Getting assigned to USA Cycling-sanctioned events:
Beginning in 2011, the promoter must identify the Chief Referee (CR) for the event when submitting their on-line event permit.
Beginning in 2020, USAC approves USAC event permits. Before approving a permit and assigning the CR, USAC will work with the NYSBRA Officials Coordinator to verify that the CR listed on the permit is qualified for the level of race. USAC may contact the CR to discuss issues specific to the event, to include course details, special arrangements needed for localities, venues, and officiating prior to approving the event permit and assigning the CR.
After USAC approves the event and assigns the CR, the CR is responsible for assigning the remainder of the officiating crew.
